Apple just dropped an unexpected new accessory, and it’s a collab we didn’t see coming: the limited-edition iPhone Pocket, a joint creation with Issey Miyake. Crafted from 3D-knit “ribbed openwork fabric,” this sleek case comes with two strap options—short and long—so you can wear it on your arm, clip it to your bag, or rock it crossbody.

“The design of iPhone Pocket embodies the close connection between iPhone and its user, while upholding the universal aesthetics and versatility that define Apple products,” Yoshiyuki Miyamae, Design Director at Issey Miyake Design Studio, said in a statement. “It explores the concept of ‘the joy of wearing your iPhone in your own way.’”
Yes, this “extra pocket” is very real—and whether you find it quirky or, dare we say, kinda stylish, you can judge for yourself when it launches. The short-strap version comes in a playful palette: Lemon Yellow, Orange, Purple, Pink, Peacock Blue, Sapphire Blue, Cinnamon, and Black. The long-strap option keeps it more muted with three hues: Sapphire Blue, Cinnamon, and Black. “These styles are intentionally designed to complement all our iPhone models and colors seamlessly,” added Molly Anderson, Apple’s Vice President of Industrial Design.
Mark your calendars: iPhone Pocket goes on sale this Friday, November 14, exclusively on Apple’s official website. But heads up—it’s not just limited in quantity; it’s also region-locked. You can snag it online in the U.S., France, Greater China, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, or the UK.
If you’re in select cities, you might even get to see it IRL. In the U.S., it’s only available in-store at Apple SoHo in New York City. Whether you buy online or in-person, though, this accessory doesn’t come cheap: the short-strap iPhone Pocket retails for $150, while the long-strap version will set you back $230.
